About the Journal
"Logopedia" is the organ of the Polish Logopedic Society, published as a yearbook continuously since 1960. The journal publishes articles on the culture of language and the biological conditions of speech development and disorders. The description of language norms and disorders includes linguistic (humanities), psychological and pedagogical (social sciences), and clinical (medical sciences) perspectives. The journal is interdisciplinary in nature.
The purpose of the journal is to publish original papers in the fields of speech therapy in the broadest sense, linguistics (general, cognitive, sociolinguistics, semantics), glottodidactics and related sciences (psychology, pedagogy and medical sciences). The thematic scope of the articles published in "Logopedia" includes all leading research trends, and each volume of the journal contains articles by authors who, representing various scientific disciplines, develop the state of knowledge about language, speech and speaking in the perspective of various theoretical concepts, using appropriate methodologies and the latest research instrumentation. Individual issues of the journal are characterized by a compact thematic structure and an established formal structure subordinated to the subject of speech therapy research.
The structure of each volume includes scientific articles of theoretical (review and conceptual papers) and practical (results of empirical research and procedures of diagnostic and therapeutic management of individual speech disorders).
The journal also accepts articles of a case study nature (results of empirical studies and procedures of diagnostic-therapeutic management in individual speech disorders), discussions and reviews of authorial and multi-author monographs in the field of speech therapy and related sciences.
In the years 2018 - 2023, "Logopedia" was a semi-annual journal. Since 2024, the magazine has been published as a yearbook.
Logopedia is indexed in the database of the Polish Medical Library (catalog of indexed journals).
As of 2017, the content is available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 4.0 International License.
