Abstract

Although the diagnosis of the facial and occlusal conditions is due of orthodontist, the speech therapist analyzes some elements of them as an important point in the diagnostic procedure. This article has been designed as a tool to assist speech therapists in analyzing of the occlusion in patients with speech problems. First the conditions for proper examination are indicated and then the criteria for the analysis are defined. It is believed to help speech therapists to be able to define type of morphological problems in their patients and to determine if they are important for the quality of speech or planned therapy.
